Recently, the Oliver James team completed a gorgeous new home extension in Buckingham. The couple wanted a new room that they could relax and chill in, and for the summer months would bring the outside, indoors.
At Oliver James, we take on projects that are at both ends of the scale in terms of size. What we often find is that it’s the smaller projects that have the most significant impact on the home.
What Did Oliver James Achieve?
A recent project, was for a lovely couple who choose one of our most popular designs. Mr and Mrs Jones decided to opt for our ‘Kew’ style room, which is a fantastically versatile design. This meant that the Oliver James team could adapt the design to fulfil the customer’s requirements of creating an open plan living space. The team had to work with 3 metres in-depth and a width of 4 metres of space.
It was essential to the Oliver James team that they maintain good health and safety throughout the project due to Coronavirus. We use Home Counties toilet hire, meaning each project has its own toilet to access. This means that the team didn’t use the client’s facilities during the build. Home Counties are well known for the cleanliness of their portable loo facilities that are well equipped with hand sanitising provisions. Furthermore, the Oliver James team used their own kettle, mugs, tea, coffee and milk, making them completely self-sufficient on-site and, therefore, kept interaction with the client to a minimum.
The addition of the home extension has transformed the formerly very small and dark ground floor into a modern and light mid terraced house. The space we created is now flooded with light from the Velux roof windows we installed, and the garden has been brought right to the room with the use of a flush threshold on the bi-folding doors.
As you can see from the before and after photos, the difference is amazing.
